An excursion to Sweet Lily’s is a fantastic educational opportunity for students of Food Technology and Hospitality. Lily has over sixteen years experience in the food and hospitality industry and shares invaluable knowledge she has gained through an interesting and interactive workshop. The student worksheet and activities are designed to address particular syllabus areas. These can be modified to suit particular needs and Lily is happy to discuss these prior to your visit.

Specifically aimed at Preliminary students, the Business Studies excursion has been designed to address components of the three Preliminary topics; Nature of Business, Business Management and more specifically Business Planning. The students will gain insight into a real business upon which they can develop a detailed case study of a small business. 

Commerce students studying the topics Promoting and selling and Running a business will benefit from an excursion to Sweet Lily’s. As name behind the business, Lily addresses questions about many facets of the business and encourages students to participate by getting them to think of specific strategies relevant to the business. This excursion provides students with a unique opportunity to experience commerce in action and to see commerce as part of everyday life in the real world. Interactive learning is a fun and meaningful way to learn more about the business world.

A great way to reinforce classroom learning of Changing Australian Communities  is to book your Geography class in for the "Leichhardt: A Community in Change" excursion. Students will learn about the physical and demographic characteristics of Leichhardt, as well as how the decline in numbers of Italians as well as other factors have impacted upon the community. Part of the day is spent walking along Norton Street observing Leichhardt as a community and engaging in primary research.

An excursion to Sweet Lily’s in The Italian Forum Leichhardt offers a unique learning experience for all Italian language students.  Students learn about the history of The Italian Forum and Leichhardt as a cultural and community centre.  The day’s activities are particularly aimed at addressing syllabus outcomes associated with 'Moving between Culture'.
